The rise in the cost of living (and just about everything) over the past year has left us feeling like we can’t leave the house without somehow spending a small fortune. The temptation to stay in, binge-watch something on Netflix or catch up on the best TV dramas, and avoid spending money altogether is very strong. But it’s so easy to forget that, if you’ve got some time, there’s often quite a variety of things to do that don’t cost a thing.
‘You no longer look like that.’ It’s always the bad review you hold on to, chew over. Never the raves, the compliments. My confidence has been severely knocked of late, not helped by the fact I had to take a selfie (no make-up, ‘no filters!’) for an upcoming feature about how Harvard boffins could gauge my biological age by examining my face.
